Firstly, I thought it was a pretty good movie. Not Shawshank Redemption or Doctor Sleep but also not The Tommy Knockers or Maximum Overdrive. Somewhere in the middle.
Mark Hamil was good as always, but honestly he didn’t have just a whole lot to do. He barely had any dialogue with other actors. He just sort of said things to the scenery for the most part. Still, he made the most of it.
The rest of the actors were clearly trying hard. I’ll say that at least. But you could “feel them trying” if you see what I’m saying. Part of it is down to some real cringe inducing dialogue, part seems to be the quality of the actors themselves. I’m a huge fan of Stephen King, but he was young when he wrote the story this was based on.
I recommend it as a lazy, casual watch on a Sunday afternoon.
