My wife and I are going up to the Sierra Blanca Mountains for a couple days. Specifically, we’ll be in Ruidoso.
Leaving for a trip is always a to-do as an adult. When we are young and we are told it’s time to pack, what to pack, and when to leave. There is also someone checking on you somewhat to make sure you have what you need and are in the right place at the right time.
As an adult, it’s all on you. For example, what podcasts will we listen to on the drive? How many beers should I pack for the hotel room. What hat should I wear?
These are all important things to think about. You don’t want to get too sober in the mountains. You don’t want to set a bad tone with an overly heavy podcast.
True crime is a good pick for the road by the way.
We got started a little later than planned. But that is one of the benefits of adult travel. I don’t have to be on anybody’s timetable but our own.
Sort of wasting time and getting on the road hours after your original plans is every American’s birthright and prerogative.
