The fight to escape the Earth-X universe wasn’t nearly as hard as it seemed like it was going to be. Seems like people could just sneak around wherever they wanted as soon as it was dark.
Not that I would have preferred some sort of protracted cat and mouse game. It’s just, the whole season has felt somewhat rushed. Episodes have gotten shorter and shorter as the season has progressed.
Again, brevity can be a virtue, but one does wonder why the show seems to be in such a hurry. Honestly, given that this season has been a “multiverse” story, I think they are wise to go as fast as they can. Multiverse fatigue has set in for many of us I believe. To say that the premise for the season feels unoriginal is an understatement.
Still, that is only the premise. The actual story has been a character study focused mostly on Chris’s lack of self worth and his search for acceptance. His journey in this vein is also reflected in one way or another by most of the other characters as well.
If the finale gives some sort of closure to this character arc, even if it isn’t positive closure, then I think we can call it a good season. The last episode is next week, so we shall see.
